Privacy
This notice explains how Quill Vault — a personal blog written by Marcus — handles information when you visit quillvault.pro. There is no company behind the site, no customer database, and no marketing department. I publish static pages from a flat in Pasir Ris and pay attention to privacy because readers deserve plain language, not theatre.
Who is responsible
Marcus (pen name) is the person responsible for this site. Contact: [email protected], +65 6591 5078, Blk 502 Pasir Ris Street 52, #05-08, Singapore 510502. There is no data protection officer because there is no organisation — only me, reading post and email when quiet hours allow.
What this site collects
By default, very little. Pages are static HTML served to your browser. I do not operate user accounts, newsletters, checkout flows, or comment boxes. There are no forms anywhere on the site, which means you never submit your name or message through my pages unless you choose to email me separately.
When you visit, your browser requests files (HTML, CSS, images, JavaScript). Standard web server logs from my hosting provider may record IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. I use those logs only for security and troubleshooting, not for profiling or advertising.
Cookies and similar storage
I use a first-party consent cookie named sg_blog_consent (mirrored in localStorage as cookie_consent_v1) to remember whether you accept functional embeds such as Google Maps. Essential storage keeps the site usable; functional storage relates to embedded maps; analytics is off by default and unused on this site. Google Maps embeds
Every page includes a neighbourhood-scale Google Maps iframe (no API key). On Quill Vault, maps are treated as functional embeds and remain visible because they help orient readers to Pasir Ris, Tampines, and Simei without tracking you for advertising. Google may process technical data when the iframe loads. I do not control Google's processing; refer to Google's privacy materials for their side.
Email and post
If you email me or send post, I keep what you send only as long as needed to read and reply, then delete or file it in ordinary personal records. I do not sell contact details or add you to lists.
Legal basis (Singapore PDPA framing)
For Singapore readers, the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 applies to personal data in my possession. My lawful purposes are narrow: operate a personal blog, respond to correspondence you initiate, secure the site, and honour cookie choices. I do not collect national registration numbers, payment card data, or employment records through this site because nothing here asks for them.
Retention
Server logs rotate on the host's schedule, typically weeks to months. Cookie consent choices persist about six months unless you clear them sooner. Email I keep only while a conversation remains relevant.
Your choices
You may block cookies in your browser, use the cookie banner controls, or open Manage cookies on the Cookies page to adjust functional preferences. You may request access to or correction of personal data you sent me directly by writing to [email protected].
Children
This blog is written for general adult readers. I do not knowingly collect data from children through the site because there is nothing to submit.
Changes
I may update this notice when hosting or embed practices change. The last updated date at the top will change accordingly. Continued reading after an update means you saw the revised page — not that you waived rights, but that transparency matters.
